摘要

　　本文主旨是討論各類的閩南語形容詞重疊式、其所擔任的語法功能、所遭受的重疊限制、其出現分佈，以及這些重疊式的句法、語意及語用限制等等。文中我們詳細探討了各類形容詞重疊式的語法特徵及句法表現；與Li & Thompson (1981) 看法不同的是﹕我們認為大多數的閩南語形容詞的重疊現象，是可以條理化來說明，並且歸納出一些規律來闡釋。另外，我們也提出了一些描述性的規律，來說明各類閩南語形容詞重疊式的出現分佈。我們的結論是：閩南語形容詞的重疊現象，不僅與構詞學及句法學有關，並且也牽涉到語意學及語用學的研究。

Abstract

　　This paper aims to discuss how adjectives are reduplicated in Southern Min, what grammatical functions are manifested by reduplicated adjectives, and what are the constraints imposed on the reduplication of adjectives and the distributions of reduplicated adjectives in this dialect. We reveal the significant grammatical properties as well as syntactic characteristics with regard to adjective reduplication in Southern Min. Contrary to Li and Thompson (1981), we think the reduplication of Southern Min adjectives is rule-governed and display a few descriptive generalizations to account for the reduplicatability or non-reduplicatability of adjectives in Southern Min. We have also shown descriptively more adequate generalizations to account for the distributions of different types of reduplicated adjectives in Southern Min. To sum up, reduplication of adjectives in Southern Min has relevance not only to morphology and syntax but also to semantics and pragmatics.
